I had my boyfriend arrested for domestic violence - please helpp :( </3?

ok i used to live with my boyfriend who is 20 and im 18, we live in England. i don't want to be lectured on how i should get a restraining order blah blah on him i would just like an answer on what you think the outcome will be if you've got background in law or been in this situation before. he has assaulted me numourous times and left bruises which were photographed. there are witnesses and he has orally raped me. i had him arrested 5 weeks ago. he is charged in 10 days. then there will be the court date. i am pressing charges. at the moment he is on bail and we aren't allowed contact. i want him to get help ultimately. i won't live with him anymore but i don't want to leave him. when will we eventually be allowed contact!??? - after court is over and done with!!?? why can't the police just be straight with me!! i just had a conversation with a man who said he wasn't even charged but was banned contact from his gf for 12 months!! i cant cope with this, i did this to do the right thing and now i am suffering.
