Can we give glucose to a patient orally also ?what are the conditions for that?

Yes oral glucose is an effective means to control hypoglycemia. Our local protocol is to treat any blood glucose level of lower than 60. In order to use oral glucose the patient must be alert and able to swallow without risk of aspiration. This being said however D50W works much better.
