Help!! Help!! Help!!..That's all I need..pleaseee?

I have a Squirrel..9 months old..She has been itching her ear so much that it bleeds many times a day..I took her to a reputed vet today..The vet gave me some Ivermectin which she said to apply locally(directly on the affected area).Is this a right way to use Ivermectin for ear mites??..Because I've read most of the places that this medicine is either given orally or is injected...Do y'all know any more remedies to cure ear mites in squirrels asap :( :'( :'( :'(..Pleasee I love her and just cannot see her suffering like this......now please don't give me answers like..squirrels r not pets n blah blah blah...I really need help..
