I told my boyfriend he didn't smell fresh below the belt....?

Last night I got up the nerve to tell my boyfriend on 7 months that he didn't smell so fresh below the belt when I please him orally. I didn't want to tell him because I didn't want to hurt his feelings, I didn't want to argue, and I felt as though I shouldn't be complaining because I'm a girl and I sweat a lot so sometimes I have a little odor down there as well but he's never complained about a smell because he loves going down on me but I hate doing it for him because of the smell. I love to please him orally but the smell is very yucky and I cant stand for it to be in my mouth so I just finish him with my hand which also leaves an odor. He's uncircumcised and I'm believing that our problem. I've checked under his skin to see if there was any smegma but he was clean so that must lead do to him having poor hygiene? I told him last night and he said and I quote "Girl your mouth was on it making it like that and besides that was precum?" Does precum really stink like that or does he just need to pull that skin back in the shower and wash really good?
